SafeX Mail
Install the local mail component
Checker for Gmail™ uses this local component to connect directly to the IMAP and SMTP servers you choose and to import Thunderbird accounts you explicitly select. Gmail features do not require this component.

Manual installation steps
- Download the official installer for your device only from this page. Your browser handles the download; the extension neither requests nor manages your download history.
- Open the downloaded package and follow the macOS prompts. The installer places only the SafeX bridge, Thunderbird helper, and updater, then registers the fixed Native Messaging hosts for detected supported browsers.
- Return to the Accounts page in Checker for Gmail™ and select “Try again.” You do not need to reinstall the extension.
One-click updates after installation
Only after you have allowed local-component access does the extension ask the separate updater host to check versions. When an update is available, the Accounts page shows the installed and target versions; downloading and installation begin only after you select “Update now.” There is no resident daemon and no downloads permission.
The updater fetches a strict manifest and three executables only from the fixed gmail.safex.cloud update path. It verifies a dedicated SafeX Mail Ed25519 signature, monotonic release sequence, exact sizes and SHA-256 hashes, then checks each executable's Apple Developer ID, SafeX Team ID, hardened runtime, timestamp, and Gatekeeper assessment. The three-file set is installed on one filesystem in helper → updater → bridge commit order; interruptions roll back through a transaction journal, and a rejected release is fused off instead of repeatedly executed.
Older installations do not yet contain the updater, so they require one manual installation of the latest package from this page. Later releases can then use one-click updates in the extension. A check or verification failure preserves the existing usable version and offers this manual installer as the fallback.
Data boundary
The local component communicates directly with the mail provider you choose. Messages, attachments, and IMAP/SMTP credentials are not sent to the SafeX website or servers.
